Annina Frey

Annina Frey is a Zurich based DJ, producer and label head focused on raw and hypnotic techno with a twist. Her sets are shaped by old school rave energy, bleep driven grooves and a strong instinct for reading the room. She plays with tension, pace and emotion, always adapting to the setting rather than following a fixed formula.

Before this chapter, she produced and released music under the alias FREYA, with releases on labels including Dear Deer and Bunny Tiger. After years of working in that space, she changed both her artist name and musical direction to reflect where she stands creatively now, returning under her given name and focusing fully on techno. That shift is also reflected in the evolution of her ASCENDING project.

As the founder of ASCENDING, her Zurich based label and platform for contemporary techno, the label already includes releases by artists such as GCOD, Tunga and JCL, alongside Annina’s own work. She places her project in an active and growing artist network rather than as a purely self release outlet.

So far she has played at venues including Hive, Klaus, Frieda’s Büxe, Kaufleuten, Gaskessel, Pacha Ibiza, Akasha Ibiza, Cairo Jazz Club and CJC 610 Cairo. With long standing experience behind the decks and a clear artistic direction in her current chapter, Annina Frey steps into this phase with a sound that feels focused, credible and built for the club.
