Smuda is a Berlin and Zurich-based DJ whose energetic sets blend techno with hardgroove, industrial percussion, acid, and breakbeats. Known for mixing deep basslines with lyrics and self-made remixes of older tracks, Smuda’s performances are uplifting, rhythmic journeys designed to keep dance floors moving while always surprising listeners with fresh twists.
Their musical journey began at the age of four with classical violin training, which shaped a keen understanding of rhythm, melody, and the subtle flow of energy in music. Currently, Smuda is diving into music production, with drum machines and hardware elements.
Smuda’s DJ sets are carefully curated to feature as many female and queer-produced tracks as possible, with a focus on energetic grooves, catchy vocal layers, and timeless dancefloor vibes.
While based in New Zealand, Smuda co-founded FLINTA*to the Front, a workshop and open decks series alongside the monthly radio show “FLINTA*Tunes” on Mouthfull Radio. They also co-founded PUR Collective, an underground techno movement hosting intimate raves in Wellington for up to 400 people. Additionally, Smuda is part of the Zurich-based intersectional feminist collective F96, working on projects centered around community-driven music culture.
